An incentive card for gas may be a suitable temporary solution but there are a lot of problems that need to be resolved before it becomes a reality for American customers.
White House Gas Rebate Cards from Federal Government
The federal government has not passed the Gas Rebate Act for 2022 yet, but it is looking into such the idea and some cities and states have made laws for it. Inflation rebate checks are intended to aid citizens with the rising cost of living. Although they are not a federally-funded program, many of these rebates are issued by state governments from surpluses. The federal government needs to think about such a plan for a practical way to reduce the current high cost of gasoline as well as other items.
Certain states have attempted to cut down on their gas tax and are currently considering offering credits to the citizens of their states. Certain states, such as New York, are considering abstaining from the gas tax altogether or offering a rebate.
