Governor Andrew Cuomo has even proposed cutting the tax on gas by half when the price of unleaded oil reaches $4.51 per gallon during summer. Certain political leaders from New York state have also support the idea of suspending state gas tax of 33.3 cents per gallon.
These aren’t available in all states
While the federal government has not trying to put together any type of stimulus package state lawmakers and President Biden has proposed a variety of solutions for consumers. These include a 3-month gas tax holiday. However, as of late June there was nothing concrete being contemplated by Congress. It will take a few months before gas rebates begin to be distributed across all states. While President Obama has offered an annual gas tax holiday across the country however, he’s not been able to come up with any legal way to fund it.

However, regardless of the political implications of the concept gasoline rebate cards are among the many options to help Americans overcome the price of gasoline. But, they’ve received some criticism. In the last two months, House Democratic counsel disapproved of the program, claiming that it would lead to inflation, was too costly, and was not targeted enough.
