The federal government hasn’t signed the Gas Rebate legislation of 2022 just yet, but it is considering such a plan, and some cities and states have enacted legislation for it. Inflation rebate checks aim to assist citizens in coping increased costs. While they aren’t a federal program the majority of these rebates have been issued by states’ governments using surplus funds. The federal government should think about such a program as an effective method to combat the current high costs of gasoline and other commodities.
