The federal government has not adopted the Gas Rebate Act in 2022, however it is looking at an idea, and some states and cities have already adopted legislation in support of it. The federal government should consider the possibility of a similar scheme as a viable option to counter the rising prices of fuel and other products.

Although the federal government has not trying to put together any type of stimulus plan, state lawmakers and President Biden have come up with various ideas to help consumers. These include a three-month period of a gas tax vacation. But as of late June no concrete plan is currently being considered by Congress. It will take a few months before gas rebates begin for every state. Although President Obama has suggested that a national tax holiday on gas and has not yet found the right legislation to support the holiday.
