A few political figures in New York state have also been in favor of suspending the state’s gas tax, which is 33.3 cents per gallon.

Although the federal government has not attempting to implement any kind of stimulus package, state lawmakers and President Biden are putting forward various plans to help consumers. The proposals include a three-month relaxation of the tax on gas. However, as of the end of June, nothing concrete is being discussed by Congress. It will be some time before gas rebates begin to be offered to all states. While President Trump has proposed a national gas tax holiday and has not yet found any viable legislation to fund it.
