The federal government should consider this scheme as an effective way in order to lower the price of gasoline and other items.

Some states, including New York, are considering cutting the gas taxes completely or offering a small discount. The governor also proposed taxes for renters as well as homeowners who pay gas tax at or above thresholds of federal minimum. Governor Andrew Cuomo has even proposed cutting the tax on gas by half once the average price for unleaded fuel is $4.51 for a gallon during summer.
