However according to a White House official says the Biden administration will not advocate for such a program, because it would be difficult to manage and would require Congressional approval. A gas-reward card could be a good temporary fix however, there are several issues that have to be dealt with before it can be real for American customers.

The federal government has not yet passed the Gas Rebate Law in 2022, however it is looking into such plans, and certain cities and states have already implemented legislation in this regard. Checks for inflation rebates are designed to help citizens cope price increases. While they’re not a federal government program, many of these rebates are provided by state governments that have surplus funds. The federal government could consider such a scheme as a viable option to combat the current high cost of gasoline as well as other products.

The proposals include a three-month relaxation of the tax on gas. But , as of June 30 there was nothing concrete being debated by Congress. It could be a while before gas rebates begin being distributed to every state. While President Trump has proposed to extend a national gas tax holiday but he is unable to find any legislation that could fund the holiday.
They’re controversial
However, regardless of the political implications of the idea gasoline rebate cards are an important tool to help Americans pay for the cost of gas. But they’ve also faced some resistance. A few months ago, House Democratic counsel opposed the proposal, concluding that it would create inflation, was too costly, and was not well targeted. Prior to that, higher-up White House aides raised concerns over the rebate card due insufficient microchips.
