The federal government should consider this type of scheme as an effective means in order to lower the cost of gasoline as well as other goods.
Some states have tried to lower their gas taxes and are considering offering credits to the citizens of their states. Certain states, such as New York, are considering abstaining from the gas tax altogether or offering a small discount.
