While President Trump has suggested that a national tax holiday on gas but has not come across any law that would allow him to fund it.

No matter the politics behind the concept, gas rebate cards are one of many instruments to help Americans cope with the costs of gasoline. However, they have already received some criticism. Just two months ago House Democratic counsel panned the idea, saying that it could cause inflation, was too costly, and was not targeted enough. Before that, important White House aides raised concerns about the rewards cards because of the lack of microchips.
