The federal government should consider this type of scheme as a way in order to lower the cost of gasoline as well as other goods.
A few states have tried to cut down on their gas tax and are considering offering reimbursements for residents. Certain states, such as New York, are considering suspending the gas tax altogether or offering small rebates. Governor Bloomberg has also proposed taxes for renters as well as homeowners who pay their gas taxes at or above those at the national minimum.
